Every electrical installation deteriorates with use and age. Broadacres have a legal duty ensure that you, or anyone entering or using your property, are not put at risk by ensuring that the electrical installation remains in a safe and serviceable condition.
We do this by carrying out a periodic inspection of your home every 5 years that checks the condition of an existing electrical installation against the UK Standard for the safety of electrical installations.
As part of this inspection we will check there are enough sockets for electrical appliances, to minimise the use of multiway socket adapters and trailing leads
How you can help reduce the risk of electrical accidents and fires around your home.
As we are all spending more time at home than ever before we have put a few tips together to make sure we can all stay safe.
Make sure that you register any electrical appliances that you bring into the property.
This means that if there is a problem, the manufacturer will be able to contact you.
Ask your landlord to confirm that they have registered any appliances that are provided with the rental. You can find out more about product registration at; www.electricalsafetyfirst.org.uk/registration
Don’t overload sockets:
Visit electricalsafetyfirst.org.uk and use the electrical safety first calculator
