A Scarborough hospice and a community café in Whitby are among the latest beneficiaries of our Fund, which which provides grant of up to £500 to support local organisations, groups, and projects in areas where Broadacres has homes.
All grants are approved by our own residents, via a Community Development Fund Panel, and we have been pleased to provide grants to support a range of projects, including:
- Saint Catherine’s Hospice Trust in Scarborough received £500 to put towards outreach services
- Whitby Railway Community Cafe & Shop received £500 to purchase window blinds and outdoor seating
- Hunton Village Hall Committee received a grant towards the cost of building a new bridge over a beck which links to two open play areas
- Just ‘B’ received a grant to help to fund bereavement sessions for young people
- The Darley Playing Fields Association in Nidderdale received £500 towards the purchase of a new swing which can be accessed by all, including disabled children and adults.
- Thirsk Netball Club received £400 to purchase the equipment needed to get things up and running for a walking netballer team,
