Our community action days continue to go from strength to strength, with fantastic support from local people and local agencies.
We have now held four days – in Stokesley, Northallerton, Bedale and Thirsk and Sowerby –with more planned in other areas throughout the rest of 2023.
These multi-agency events are all about building community relationships, making a positive difference and gaining further insights into what matters to people living in our communities.
It gives everyone a chance to listen to what residents are saying and be able to give them guidance and support to access the services they need, including the most vulnerable in the community.
The community action days include:
- a chance for residents to meet their police teams and others who provide local services and talk about issues affecting them.
- Crime prevention advice and advice on how the community can help police address antisocial behaviour.
- Wellbeing visits to vulnerable residents, including those who may find it harder to attend the event in person.
- A tidy-up of estates, with skips provided by Broadacres.
- Advice on warm space initiatives, to help cut the cost of heating your home.
- Financial advice and more.
Andy Powell, Broadacres’ Customer Experience Director, said: “Broadacres couldn’t deliver what it does without partnership working so it is heartening to see so many organisations in the same room with the same purpose, which is to deliver great services to people in our local communities.”
Our next community action day is taking place on 28th July in The Galtres Centre, Easingwold.
Further events are planned in Scarborough, Richmond, Catterick & Leyburn, Selby & Stokesley. Please keep an eye on our website, social media channels and the local press for dates and venues for these community action days.
