We continue to award grants from the Community Development Fund to support local groups and projects across the region, including:

  • Walking football sessions set up by a former professional footballer and support for a building which has been at the centre of community life for over a century are among the latest projects to benefit from a Broadacres grant.
  • North Yorkshire Soccer Academy received a grant to help them kit out a new girls’ funder-14 football team at Carlton Miniott near Thirsk.
  • Stokesley Town Hall Trust received a grant from Broadacres to buy lightweight, foldable tables which the Town Hall Stewards can easily manage.
  • Northallerton Cricket Club has used a grant from Broadacres plus support from the local council to help fund a defibrillator at their Farndale Avenue base
  • A grant from Broadacres has enabled Great Broughton and Kirkby sports club to pickleball buy equipment to offer sessions for older members who were finding tennis too painful.
  • Broadacres has helped a former professional footballer to set up walking football sessions in Stokesley.
  • A good crowd is guaranteed at Bedale Christmas Festival thanks to a grant from Broadacres to help towards the cost of festival brochures being distributed to local shops and houses.
