We recognise the benefits of having a diverse group of colleagues, customers and board members. To that end, we have set equality and diversity targets for gender, disability and members of a minority ethnic group.

Below is the make-up of our workforce in May 2022/23:

*Figures include bank/casual workers.

Note: One colleague identifies as non-binary. They are part of the overall colleague numbers, but have not been included in the male/female figures.

INVESTING IN OUR TEAMS

In 2022/23 Broadacres employed 411 people from the local community, spread across many locations in North Yorkshire.

We continually invest in our colleagues and in 2022/23 we spent over £155,000 on training in a mixture of statutory training, technical, awareness training and personal development, an average of £391 per person.

In 2022/23 we employed 9 apprentices or trainees, 5 of these were in Property Services, 1 in Development, 1 in IT, 1 in Communications and 1 in Housing.

GENDER PAY GAP

We monitor progress to ensure we maintain a level of diversity that is representative of the local demographics of the population in which we operate (North Yorkshire).  In addition to the target for 50:50 split across gender within the organisation, we strive to reduce the gender pay gap.
